Aston Villa v Blackburn: Team News
2010-01-01 17:40:25
Aston Villa (from):
Friedel, Guzan, L Young, Beye, Cuellar, Dunne, Collins, Clark, Warnock, A Young, Milner, Petrov, Downing, Reo-Coker, Sidwell, Delph, Gardner, Agbonlahor, Carew, Heskey, Delfouneso, Albrighton.

Aston Villa winger Ashley Young will return after suspension for the home FA Cup third round clash with Blackburn on Saturday.

Young was banned for the 1-0 defeat to Liverpool at Villa Park on Tuesday after picking up five yellow cards this season.

He is likely to replace Nigel Reo-Coker who made a rare start against the Reds amidst constant speculation that he may leave Villa Park during the January transfer window.

Villa are hoping striker Emile Heskey will be fit after he missed the meeting with his former club through illness as they look to avenge a 2-1 league reversal at Ewood Park earlier in the campaign.

It will be the first of two meetings in four days with Blackburn whom they visit for the first leg of the Carling Cup semi-final on Tuesday.
Blackburn (from):
Robinson, Olsson, Chimbonda, Jacobsen, Nelsen, Samba, Salgado, Pedersen, Givet, Nzonzi, Hoilett, Andrews, Emerton, Dunn, Di Santo, Roberts, McCarthy, Kalinic, Diouf, Jones, Brown, Van Heerden, Rigters.

Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce is expected to make several changes to his starting line-up.

Rovers have some good news on the injury front with David Dunn back in full training and Brett Emerton set for a late fitness test after the groin injury which cut short his Christmas schedule.

Dunn has not featured for the first team since limping out of the goalless draw against Stoke City a month ago with a calf strain.

Vince Grella is still recuperating from his thigh problem, but Franco Di Santo is available after extending his loan deal from Chelsea.
