OLOF Mellberg will be asked by Martin O'Neill today whether he feels in the right frame of mind to continue turning out for Villa.

The Swedish international is preparing to sign a pre-contract agreement with Juventus that will see him switch to the Serie A giants in the summer.

Mellberg has so far only given an indication to O'Neill that he is likely to sign a pre-contract agreement, but following reports from Italy that Juventus were close to finalising the deal, the manager will look to clarify the situation with the 30-year-old.

"Olof hasn't been to see me, so I haven't had a chance to speak to him about the statement from Juventus," said O'Neill. "He said he'd tell me if and when he signed.
